This exciting and challenging event will be held in Café de Beurs. On Wednesday May 15 we will welcome you at 19.30. The costs to partcipate are €5,00 per person. You will play in teams of two. If you don’t have a partner you can sign up on your own and we will find a team member for you.

On Friday the 19th of April we will visit the Shell Technology Centre in Amsterdam. There we will learn everything about what it’s like to work for one of the biggest firms in the world. You won’t find many companies with this much room to grow and develop. Once you work at shell almost anything is possible. Want to work abroad? Want to work in another sector? At Shell they will find the perfect spot for you.

The day will consist of a tour through the Technology Centre; different speakers; a workshop and, of course, the day will end with a drink. We are expected in Amsterdam around 11:00 and the day will end around 17:00. If you sign up you have to send along your CV, based on this you will be selected by Shell. A week before the In-house day you will be notified if you are selected or not. Sign up deadline is the 7th of April. You have to be at least in your third year.

Experience the life of a consultant!
For a period of 3 days we will travel to Amsterdam to get to feel of what’s it like to be a consultant. We will work on cases, go to drinks and have fancy dinners. This is your best chance to immerse yourself in the world of consulting.
There is room for twenty participants, you will be selected by the companies based on the quality of your CV and motivation letter. There is 35 euro fee required to cover some of the costs. The event will take place from 9 – 11 April.

Rotterdam, September 3-6, 2013
Samen met de Nederlandse en Duitse Operations Research verenigingen organiseert de Erasmus Universiteit dit jaar het congres OR2013. Dit is een groot internationaal congres op het gebied van Operations Research met naar verwachting zo’n 700-1000 deelnemers. Het congres trekt deelnemers op alle deelgebieden van de Operations Research (o.a. combinatorische optimalisering, speltheorie, maar ook toepassingen uit transport & logistiek, de financiële econometrie en de gezondheidszorg).
Voor dit congres zoeken we als organisatie (econometrie) studenten die mee willen helpen tijdens het congres. Het gaat daarbij om de volgende activiteiten:
- Het vullen van de conferentie tassen met informatie op dinsdag 3 september.
- Het registreren van deelnemers op dinsdagavond 3 en woensdag 4 september.
- Het helpen van sprekers bij het gebruik van beamer en laptop tijdens parallelle sessies op 4, 5 en 6 september.
- Het wijzen van de weg naar en het controleren van de toegangskaarten tijdens de recepties en het conferentie diner op 3, 4 en 5 september (’s avonds).
We zoeken voor alle vier de dagen zo’n 20-30 studenten. Geef je snel op via firstname.lastname@example.org (uiterlijk 1 mei) en geef daarbij aan op welke dagen je wilt helpen.
Voor studenten die in het collegejaar 2013/14 de master “Operations Research & Quantitative Logistics” gaan volgen, geldt dat er in de eerste week van september geen colleges zijn. Zij worden geacht in die week een literatuurstudie te doen, maar krijgen daar vrijstelling voor indien ze minstens 24 uur meehelpen bij OR2013 (in dat geval kunnen ze ook bij het congres sessies volgen).

During the night of the 28th of March we will depart per bus to one of Europe most exciting cities: Berlin! The annual citytrip for this year promises to be a lot of fun since Berlin is not only known for its cultural highlights, but of course also for its excessive nightlife! So what better way to spend your Eastern-weekend to go out, have fun and take your mind of all things boring! Included in the trip will be a city-tour, one dinner and a tour through a beer-brewery. We will be back Monday the 1st of April early in the morning.
The 4th of March, at 08:00 A.M., subscriptions will open. Past few years have taught us that the subscriptions tend to go really fast, so if you want to ensure a spot you will have to be quick!

Once we have received your mail you will get an confirmation mail including payment details. Your subscription is not definitive untill we have received the payment (€147) in full.
